A good laugh...

Comparison, originally uploaded by kkirk78.

I just had to post this. This is a comparison of me pregnant last time and this time at 20 weeks. It's so crazy how big I was last time! I feel tiny this time!! You might have to click on the pic to see the whole thing.

First glimpse of our son

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday. He is measuring where he should be (about 13oz). I thought I would share this pic of him. It is the profile of his face and he has his hand next to his face. I have more pictures up on flickr if you want to see them. www. flickr.com/kkirk78.

It's a...

It's a boy!, originally uploaded by kkirk78.

We had our ultrasound today and everything looks good. She is pretty convinced he is a boy but said we should hopefully know for sure after the next ultrasound in two weeks. She got a few different angles and then said that if it is not a boy she is not sure what that little thing is then...hehe...

We are excited and now the fun of naming him begins....boy names are so much harder to come up with than girl names.

Pictures

Here are some pictures of Cole from the past couple of weeks. He will be 18 months on the 21st - he is pretty funny a lot of the time. Quite the personality.

Just to let you all know that we are in the midst of hopefully selling our house. We received an offer and have accepted it. We just have to get through the inspection and closing now. We should close by December 12th. We would appreciate your prayers that everything continues to go smoothly with the process.

Also, in the few months we will need to find some place else to live here in Nebraska. We are hoping to rent a house, but there really aren't any available right now. There are a few houses for sale, but we are very leary of buying when we don't know how long we will be here, and there aren't a lot of people moving to Stromsburg so it could be tough to sell when we do move on. So, we are trying to make the right decision.

Good News!

I just had to post my good news. We had the triple test done at my doctor's appt last week and they called yesterday to tell me that everything came back normal. For those of you that don't know the triple test tests for downs syndrome, spina bifida and other disorders. We had the same test done last time I was pregnant and the spina bifida came back positive. That is when we had the ultrasound done and realized we had twins. It was positive b/c it measures the protein and since there were two it was double the protein. Anyways, it was a huge relief yesterday to get good news this time. We have an ultrasound this Friday so maybe we'll find out if it's a boy or girl but I'm not getting my hopes up. I will post a pic of our baby ultrasound pic if we get one.

Fall Fun!

I thought I would share some pictures of the things we have been doing this fall. We have been very busy. I thank God for the 2nd trimester glow so that I can enjoy thiese things with my family. We went to Cades Cove one Sunday after church. It was beautiful. This is a picture of one of the many deer we saw. They were everywhere.

Caroline flying.

This is the first year we have carved pumpkins. They had alot of fun.

Here are pictures from the pumpkin patch. We took a hayride to get pumpkins.

We also wanted to let you know that we have decided on a name for the baby. His name is Andrew David. We are also going to be in Rushville for Thanksgiving. I am not sure of all of our plans yet. Hope to see you then.

due date moved

So, Toby and I went to the dr on Friday for my 10 wk appt. He had originally given me a due date of Apr 11th which I realized after I got home was about 38 weeks not 40. So I asked him when I went on Friday and he said he must have had a brain fart. So, my due date is April 25th now which is at 40 weeks. It is also my moms b-day and 9 days after my brother and I's b-day (were five years apart). So, we'll have another April b-day to add to our b-day celebrations! I guess we'll have lots of April b-days to celebrate on both my side and the Redden side of the family with three little ones all due within days of each other. We also got to hear the heartbeat. Everything seems to be going just fine.

Ashlee's first soccer game!

Ashlee played her first soccer game today. She really did well for the first time. It was very fun to watch. She played goalie for one period. She did a great job. No one scored on her. We were surprised how aggressive she was. Here they are running in.

This is my favorite picture. You can tell she is really concentrating. Click on it to make it bigger so you can see her face.

Quote from dinner tonight!

We had just finished dinner tonight and Marshall said, "Do you know who is crazy? Uncle Joe." I thought this was very funny.

Joe you have left a lasting impression on my children.

UT Fans!! GO VOLS!

Mom, Steve, and Conner game to the game today so we had to get some pictures of everyone dressed up. I thought they turned out really good. We did not go to the game. We might try to take the kids when it gets alittle cooler.

Marshall's 1st Soccer Game

Marshall did great at his first game. Here you can see him running through the tunnel. It's even better on video. He was so serious.

Here is is kicking the ball. Mom got some great pictures.

Here he ran the ball all the way down the field to score. The video is great but I don't think my camera will download to the computer. He had alot of fun. Ashlee will play her first game next Saturday.

An Ode To April

April showers bring May flowers
But what else will April bring?

Kendra we know will have something to show,
And that's not the only thing.

There is more news and more names to choose
For two very lucky mothers.

And Elias and Cole will have a new role
When April makes them big brothers!

That's right. Two more babies for the end of April! It looks like Trisha and I are very close to Kendra. We both will be 7 weeks pregnant at the end of this week with tentative due dates about the 20th of April. We are both excited!

Only 1 baby this time!

Only 1 baby this time!, originally uploaded by kkirk78.

I went to the dr today and we also had an ultrasound done. We only have one baby this time! Dr. said everything looked good and we got to see it's little heart beating away on the screen. I know it doesn't look like much now. The circle thing on the right is the yolk sac and the long skinny thing next to it is the baby. Since what happened with the boys was a condition related only to identical twins, we are very confident that we'll be bringing this one home with us. I am 6 weeks tomorrow and the baby is measuring at 6 wk and 3 days. They gave me a due date of April 11th (my b-day is the 16th). Maybe I'll get a nice b-day present this year!

Moving

I thought I would send a quick update about our move next week to Nebraska. We are still planning to leave on Wednesday with just a little bit of our stuff. We have had a couple of showings for our house, but still no real interest. We would appreciate everyone's prayers for this as we would really like to sell it sooner rather than later.

Getting ready to move is the main thing we are focusing on right now. It was great seeing everyone a few weeks ago. Hopefully we will be able to see some of you during the holidays. Here are a couple of pictures of Cole. He will be 15 months next week and is such a little boy. Climbing on everything, runnin, saying a few words, and doing new things here and there. He has recently started wiping his nose on his own. It is so cute. He has had a runny nose (teething) and if he has a tissue he will bring it up to his nose and wipe it so gently. He is funny. Hope everyone is doing well!
